A week of chill

Week one of my summer holiday done, two left! This week was really successful in terms of doing stuff.

On Monday I joined Maria and Hector for a kayak/canoe adventure on the Lyngby lake. It was… interesting. We had some trouble getting the kayak and canoe to the lake (we didn’t really fasten the wheels on the boats properly), and then the actual canoeing turned out to be a bit challenging as well. I had never done anything like that before, so I got the kayak. It was fun, but I got tired really fast – and then started making mistakes with the paddle that almost tipped me to the water. But somehow we all stayed dry. 😀

On Tuesday I had a little Copenhagen adventure day, and visited the Design museum. It was really interesting! On the way there I walked around the Kastellet, and stopped to say hello to The Little Mermaid. 🙂

I also managed to check an item from my Copenhagen checklist, when I finally visited Kongens Have. It was so nice that I was inspired to ask Anna to join me for a sushi picnic in the park.

In the evening I met with DTU friends for drinks. We tried to go to LA Tequila (the place with the free beer), but due to some forgotten IDs ended up chilling at Nyhavn instead. I was quite happy about the change of plans – chilling outside was nice, as the weather stayed warm pretty late. When the free beer time was over we joined with the others.

Wednesday and Thursday were beach days. I actually went swimming in the sea on Wednesday! The water was a bit cold. But not too bad!

On Thursday evening I had the sudden inspiration to go and see the new Star Wars film at the Lyngby Cinema – so I went solo to see Solo. 😀 Ahahaha sorry. I already made the same joke on my Instagram story. Maybe this is why I had to go alone.

On Friday I met Minna at Nørreport, and we walked to Refshaleøen. I’m so happy that I asked Anna for CPH recommendations, because I don’t think we would have wandered there by ourselves. The place was really cool! Street food and sunshine, what’s not to like.

We had “stir-fried” ice cream! Was good.

On Friday evening I joined Anna to Tivoli’s Fredagsrock. The bands that performed were a bit random – some old Danish guys. But it was a really fun experience anyway. 😀 We drank way too many shot tube thingys, and after the concert moved on to a karaoke place, an Irish pub, and finally to a place called No Stress. A fun evening. 😀

Saturday was a bit challenging. I had agreed to go to the Louisiana Museum of Modern Arts with Minna and her friend, and had to get myself back to life before that. I might have been still a bit drunk in the morning (ok early afternoon) when I left to the museum, but all that art had a good sobering effect.

Today I’ve just been chilling at home. I played some ukulele and did some laundry, and I guess I’ll watch a movie now or something. Or maybe go for a short walk. This room is so small that I think I’ll go crazy if I stay here all evening. Today has been the first cloudy day in a while.

I can’t believe that next week is the last full week here. 🙁 But it’s also Distortion week! Woop woop!

Bye for now!
